DeMar DeRozan trade rumors: Why Kings, not Lakers or Heat, have emerged as most likely landing spot for Bulls star

Last season, the Kings finished eighth in the West and missed the Play-In Tournament. They need talent to climb the difficult Western Conference standings.

The Lakers and Heat are both rumoured to want DeRozan. However, both teams are predicted to be far into the first apron, making a trade harder.

Why Kings have emerged as most likely DeMar DeRozan destination

Spotrac says the Kings are $14 million under the first apron. That provides them a lot of flexibility to boost compensation in a sign-and-trade,

Bulls don't want that extra salary back, making a sign-and-trade complicated. They will not exceed $11 million under the luxury tax next season.

The Bulls value youth over draft picks. The Kings have few options if DeRozan joins. The Bulls considered Devin Carter, the 13th pick, before selecting Matas Buzelis at 11.

What a DeMar DeRozan sign-and-trade might look like

The Pistons or Jazz would lead this transaction. Reggie Jackson's $5.2 million sale cost the Nuggets three second-rounders.
