Buddy Hield trade rumors: Warriors land Klay Thompson replacement from 76er

Klay Thompson left the Warriors in 2024 after 13 seasons. Golden State found a replacement quickly.

Hield, 31, played for the Pacers and 76ers in 2023-24. Over 84 league-best regular-season games, the No. 6 pick in the 2016  

The Warriors signed and traded Hield for the Mavericks' 2031 second-round pick to the 76ers. As with most of these deals, the 76ers earned little,

Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reported that Hield inked a four-year contract with $21 million guarantees. 

Thompson's departure triggered a trade exception that allows the Warriors to add Hield. This facilitated a swift deal. 

It's clear why the Warriors want Hield. He is a like-for-like trade with Thompson and should provide Golden State more shooting options with Stephen Curry.  

Hield is a top NBA 3-point shooter and a decent contributor. His sharpshooting has helped him make 40% of his career 3-point shots and score 20.7 points
